How Exciting! Book Coming Out Next Month - Here is Part of the Story
I was honoured to be asked to write a chapter for the next generation! This is a book that is for students graduating as a gift to help them with strengthening their walk with God while also encouraging them in real life. Sometimes our lives take twists and turns, when they do its good to know that we have the power to make life giving choices along the way. Do you know a teen who will be graduating this year? This book will encourage and bless them. This book will help them with their own life journey and give them strength in the midst of storms. This book will give them hope as they face their own lives twists and turns. Here is my post from my FB Business Page - I wanted to share it with you here too! Blessings
"OK sharing a bit of a story that is coming out in a book that I am a co-author in... It is a devotional for young people to see that they have choices and options in life. The book is called "Option Ocean" and will be out in April.
The part I am sharing here is a quick snippet from one of my chapters which I shared with my beloved this morning. For those who know the story- you will be able to put the before and after in this...for those who do not - here is a quick one line of the before and the current overview of the after story I will put at then end.
The part below in quotes is a portion of the chapter called "A Pin in the Map" by Cyndilu Miller in the Book: "Option Ocean - Navigating the Sea of Possibility" is the devotional book every graduate needs. Honestly, there are people in their 30s, 40s and 50s who will love it as well!
The before story was life experiences that were hard and included abuse and neglect -
"I focused on my friends from church. They were encouraging and fun, and a couple years after my divorce, they began telling me about a guy at church. “Robin’s from New Zealand, Cyndilu. Isn’t that interesting? Maybe you two should get to know each other.”
“No way!” I said. Robin was scruffy. I found out later that was because he worked nights and came to church exhausted after his shift. At first glance though I said, “No, no, no. He’s not my type.”
I’d talk to my friends about the kind of man I’d like to marry one day, and they’d say, “Well you know, that sounds an awful lot like Robin.” They just didn’t get it. I didn’t want scruffy—I wanted a man who was put together.
Eventually, after a challenge from Robin—another story—I started to talk with him. Within a month, I realized they were right. Nine months later, he asked me to marry him. He is the most wonderful, amazing scruffy man I will ever, ever have the honor and privilege of being married to!"
- the after story is that I am now living in New Zealand with my beloved and I couldn't be happier about that at all. New Zealand feels so much like home! I am truly blessed. Thank you God for your faithfulness in my life."
Keep your head up and remember that life is a gift. You are uniquely and wonderfully made. Your voice can only be heard when you use it out loud!
